Naughty Dog 'unlikely' to make another Uncharted game after The Lost Legacy

The last game in the series was a year ago and it nicely wrapped up Nathan Drake's story but cracked the door open just a bit in case Naughty Dog does want to go back and revisit it in the future.

Speaking with GameInformer, studio co-president Evan Wells said that another Uncharted game from Naughty Dog is very unlikely after Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as the studio has a lot of stuff going on for it. Though one would have to ask themselves: Do you want a studio other than Naughty Dog to handle Uncharted? However, since the company's resources are limited and that they have a ton of ideas to explore, the chances of making another game under the franchise are low. It'd be hard. If we magically had that two-team, three-team studio, sure - it'd be great to keep doing it.

The news comes courtesy of a Game Informer interview with Naughty Dog, where the developer shared a few details about the The Lost Legacy level's size. As the smooth-talking master thief that debuted in Uncharted 2, Chloe is not only one of our favorite characters, but we know she's a favorite amongst our community. If Sony wants more, that's the way to do it.

Visionary development teams sometimes walk into the sunset once the story arcs of their games' cast have concluded, or if they feel there's little left for the IP to say.

Meanwhile, Naughty Dog is now working on The Last of Us Part 2 which has no set release date. Chloe and Nadine are on an adventure to find a jewel that the Hoysala people of India created to honor the Hindu god Ganesh's story.

The Lost Legacy is the single player, story-led expansion promised prior to the release of A Thief's End. Chloe had Indian ancestry, but has not visited the country a long time, which is why the game will see her past, but also her relationship with her father and the cultural heritage of the family. She's also a strong and enigmatic character -in other words, flawless to be our lead protagonist in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
