Woman searching for boy who left $5, heartbreaking apology note

A Washington State woman is searching for the young boy who left a heartbreaking note on her front porch Friday.

Along with the letter, the boy left a $5 dollar bill and an imprint on Marie's heart.

Adding, she can give Jake and his sister a second wind chime "so both of you have your own". So, when she received a note after realizing her wind chime had been stolen, she understood completely. I am not mad.

"That little butterfly apparently meant a lot to him and his little sister and he did try to do the right thing so I forgive him", Reitz said.

But thanks to one of those surreal twists of fate, Chrissy Reitz's own life experiences made her more than sympathetic to Jake and his sister's plea.

"I am not mad please come over to my house". This is only money I have. She also wants to offer Jake his own wind chime similar to the one they took, so they can each have a reminder of their mom.

"I lost my mom when I was five and my dad just nearly six years ago".

The mom-of-five admitted she wanted to cry when she read the note, and replied to the boy via Facebook, in hopes that someone could help her get in touch with Jake. The post has spread on social media, but she has had no luck finding Jake so far. She said if she finds Jake, she will "give him his money without embarrassing or scaring him".

I am sorry that we stole your windchimes.

Marie says she's now looking into some solid leads and hopes to hear something very soon.

While Marie says she knows stealing is a crime, she says she is sympathetic toward Jake and his sister.
