If you live in any of the above countries and haven't yet received the OTA update on your Samsung Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge, you can expect to see an automatic update notification pop up very soon, asking you to download and install the new update. The South Korean tech giant has finally finished the testing phase of the Nougat OS on Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. But apparently, it did not push through as Samsung wanted to re-examine the firmware's quality, further promising that it would release the official Nougat update as early as possible once the review is over. "Samsung remains committed to providing the highest quality software and apologizes for the delay".

T-Mobile and AT&T became the first carriers in the release the update for the owners of the two devices in February. It goes without saying that the standard Galaxy S6 will also receive the update over the coming days.

Well, it's pretty obvious why folks are clinging on to their Galaxy S3s; the Galaxy S4 and S5 don't look as good and the Galaxy S6 and S7 don't come with the removable battery option.

The latest update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge weighs around 1.35GB, however, it might change a bit owing to location and model.

However, users can also perform a manual check for the update by going to the Settings, then About Phone Check for Updates Software Update to see if the Android 7.0 Nougat software update has hit their Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge post March 20. Other features of the Android 7.0 Nougat version include inline reply feature, revamped notifications bar, multi-app usage, data saving mode, new emojis, and quicker navigation among others. On the brighter side, the South Korean company is still actively working on monthly security updates for the 2015 flagship, with the latest version for the month of February now rolling out to those using the phone on AT&T. If otherwise, you may be facing the prospects of downloading and installing more than one update on your phone.
