Davon House reportedly signs with the Packers

The Green Bay Packers announced that they're re-signed LB Jayrone Elliott on Tuesday.

The contract is for one year and is worth $3.75 million with a chance to be as high as $5 million, according to Mike Garafolo. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Jones played defensive end in 59 of a possible 64 regular-season games, mostly as a backup. In four years with the Packers, he has nine sacks.

Jones played in 15 games each of the last two seasons in Green Bay, starting four games previous year and totaling 22 tackles in 2016.

The Packers are bringing back cornerback Davon House.

Linebacker Dont'a Hightower, the top remaining free agent available, remains on his visit with the Steelers at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.

He started all 16 games for Jacksonville but only four games past year, though he appeared in every game. There are also second-year guards Kyle Murphy and Lucas Patrick, but either would represent a significant drop-off as a starter.

The Jaguars released him on March 6th, making him a street free agent, and the Packers were rumored to have interest in him nearly immediately. All of those players started at least 32 games for Green Bay, except the oft-injured Tretter, who started 10 of 31 games during his three seasons. At this point, Barclay is probably No. 1 on the depth chart at right guard, but it's hard to envision him there in August.
