An Oklahoma senator who lead Donald Trump's primary campaign in the state faces possible prostitution charges after a homosexual encounter in a cheap motel.

After an investigation, police charged Shortey with soliciting prostitution of a minor, prostitution within 1,000 feet of church and transporting goal of prostitution. Police in Moore, acting on a tip from the teen's father, found Shortey and the teen in a hotel room last week. Police say a "strong odor of marijuana" came from the hotel room and they found a green plastic container labeled "Colorado Retail Marijuana". The device allegedly revealed conversations between him and Shortey about exchanging sex acts for money, local station KOCO reported citing a search warrant released by police.

State Sen. Ralph Shortey was charged a day after the Oklahoma Senate - by a vote of 43 to 0 - passed a resolution that suspended almost all his privileges. The Oklahoma age of consent is 16, meaning there is at least a 20-year age gap between the 35-year-old senator and the underage teen. "Ralph Shortey owes it to his constituents and all taxpayers to suspend himself from all official activities", Democrat chair Mark Hammons stated, according to Pink News.

Shortey, a conservative Republican from south Oklahoma City, hasn't replied to several phone messages seeking comment, and court records don't show if he has retained an attorney yet.

That friend is a teenage boy whose parents told police "has a history of soliciting himself on Craigslist for sexual conduct". He was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center and released on bond.

When police discovered the boy in Sen. His executive assistant was reassigned, he was directed to return a state-owned laptop and any other state-owned property in his possession, and he is no longer authorized to occupy his office in Room 412.

In a statement following its passage, Senate President Pro Tem Mike Schulz said it was not meant to be "a presumption of guilt or innocence".

The cop said he was then informed about the existence of a Kindle tablet used by the juvenile that contained text messages between him and a person the cops believe to be Shortey.

'In light of the charges filed against him, Ralph Shortey should resign from his seat so the good people of southwest Oklahoma City can move forward with electing a new state senator, ' Lamb said in a statement.

'It says two adults registered, ' the manager added.
