Three US Army Soldiers Shot By Afghan Army Soldier Inside Base

At least three foreign soldiers were wounded on Sunday in the southern province of Helmand after an Afghan National Army (ANA) officer deliberately started firing at foreign troops at 215 Maiwand Army Corps. United States soldiers receiving medical care.

Since October, 12 Americans have been killed in Afghanistan and five Americans are now being held hostage there.

Elsewhere in Afghanistan, Taliban fighters attacked a district headquarters in the Kandahar province using a suicide auto bomb, said Samim Khpolwak, a spokesman for the governor. Salvin declined to offer more details.

The incident happened during a military training exercise, officials said.

A soldier of the Afghan National Army (ANA) forces opened fire on his global comrades in southern Helmand province, leaving at least three USA soldiers wounded. He said two Afghan soldiers were killed and three others were wounded by a roadside bomb during the operation. Resolute Support follows the military mission in the country after combat operations concluded near the end of 2014. There are roughy 8,400 US troops in the country, more than Iraq and Syria combined.

During the peak of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, almost 13,000 Special Operations forces were deployed on missions across the globe, but a large majority were assigned to those two countries.
