Sources in New Delhi said apart from diplomatic options, India will also explore legal remedies permitted under Pakistan legal system including Jadhav's family appealing against the verdict.

Indian Coast Guard officials said the Defence Ministry had denied the delegation clearance for the visit.

Former naval officer Kulbhushan was convicted by a Pakistani military court for spying and fomenting unrest in the province of Balochistan.

This is the first move by the government to raise the stakes for Pakistan after the Jadhav sentencing as it suggests that the two countries could be returning to the situation which prevailed in the immediate aftermath of the Uri attack previous year in which 19 Indian soldiers were killed.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh refuted Pakistan's claim of a fair trial being given to retired navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav. India has been claiming that Jadhav was abducted in Iran. The death sentence to Jadhav was confirmed by army chief General Bajwa after the Field General Court Martial found him guilty of "espionage and sabotage activities" in Pakistan.

According to a DNA report, the Union government is planning to sharply reduce or even stop visas for all purposes other than medical and hospitalisation.

India has demanded certified copies of charge sheet for the release of Kulbhushan Jadhav who is been sentenced to death by a military court in Pakistan.

India on Monday made it clear to Pakistan that if Islamabad carried out the death sentence handed down to one of its nationals for alleged spying in Pakistan, then New Delhi would treat it as "a case of premeditated murder".

On reports of Jadhav carrying a fake identity or original Indian passport, Baglay said, "We can not ascertain anything since we did not have any consular access".

Pakistan has collected fresh evidences on Indian involvement inside Pakistan to spread anarchy and militancy, sources stated. "Till we know what is in the charge-sheet and the verdict, how can we appeal?" According to Pakistani media reports, 3 suspected RAW agents have been arrested including mastermind of Abbaspur bomb blast in Rawalakot area of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. "So, they should send Jadhav back", he said.
