Okla. deputy dies after shooting; suspect sought

The condition of the sheriff's deputy was not immediately clear.

Logan County, Oklahoma deputy David Wade is being remembered and honored across the state after he was shot to death while serving an eviction notice Tuesday morning.

Officials told our affiliates KFOR that deputy was shot multiple times near I-35 and Mulhall Road in Logan County, Oklahoma.

Leforce then allegedly stole the deputy's patrol auto, before driving it to a gas station and stealing another vehicle from a woman, the OHP said.

The auto stolen from the convenience store was located Tuesday morning near Jaxton Road and County Road 77. He was flown to OU Medical Center where he later died. Wade is survived by a wife and three children.

As he approaches the home, LeForce is seen removing a shotgun from his waist and aiming it at Wade.

Devereaux confirmed that Nathan Aaron LeForce, 45, the suspect in the fatal shooting, was taken into custody.

Sheriff Damon Devereaux told NewsOK.com that Wade was an Army veteran. He then carjacked a vehicle from a woman, which has since been found near Guthrie.

Vincent said LeForce was found in a nearby outbuilding, where he surrendered to authorities.
