Princess Charlotte about to turn 2; new photo released

This is not the first time the young princess has been dressed in John Lewis, she wore the brand's off-white Baby Wadded Snowsuit during a trip to the French Alps a year ago.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have said they are "delighted" to share this new photograph of Princess Charlotte enjoying the outdoors to mark their only daughter's second birthday on Tuesday May 2.

She's dressed in what has become "Charlotte style", in a cardigan sweater in yellow decorated with blue sheep, over a blouse or a dress with a Peter Pan collar.

We can expect at least one more public glimpse of the two children on May 20, when Auntie Pippa Middleton marries her London finance manager fiancé, James Matthews.

When Charlotte's brother George celebrated his second birthday, the Queen and Prince Philip reportedly dropped in from nearby Sandringham - however, the Duke of Edinburgh is expected to host a lunch at Buckingham Palace tomorrow. Prince George will participate in the wedding as a page boy.

Prince George's little sister has certainly grown up since the last official photograph's of her were shared - with longer bob-length hair.

She was named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana in a tribute to her grandmother, the late Princess Diana, and her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
