Robert De Niro slams Donald Trump

"I don't make movies for rich liberal elites", Robert De Niro said Monday night during his speech accepting the Film Society of Lincoln Center's Chaplin Award at Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theatre.

Actor Robert De Niro on Monday blasted President Donald Trump's proposal to slash the federal arts budget. This is what they call alternative facts. "I've got my restaurants for that", he cracked, before adding, "I make them for everybody". "The budget proposal, among its other draconian cuts to life-saving and life-enhancing programs, eliminates the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

The director has been a fierce critic of Trump, saying ahead of the election that he'd like to "punch" the former real estate mogul in the face. How dare he say the things he does?
