In yet another clinical outpointing of a top contender, Jedrzejczyk, 29, made the fifth defense of her strawweight title, moving her within one of tying Ronda Rousey's record for UFC title defenses by a female fighter.

Knowing she was way behind on the scorecards, Andrade desperately chased Jedrzejczyk in the final round. Jedrzejczyk nails a swinging Andrade with a counter right hook, Jedrzejczyk nails an incoming Andrade with a right followed by an elbow strike.

The Brazilian powerhouse rocked Jedrzejczyk in the early going, creating a massive hematoma above the champion's right eye. Jedrzejczyk is doing a good job of keeping Andrade at bay. Andrade gets a takedown but Joanna pops right back up.

The closest Jedrzejczyk came to a finish was probably in the fourth round, when she landed a left head kick that appeared to rattle Andrade momentarily. Jedrzejczyk peppers Andrade with punches and kicks from range and Andrade can not close the distance. She's missing by huge distances.

As the disparity grew in the later rounds, it became obvious that two things were on display: Joanna Champion's excellence and Andrade's toughness.

"When I started fighting, (my mother) let me go to jiu-jitsu tournaments", Andrade said.

Watching Jedrzejczyk do her thing is always worth your time, simply for the fact she brings technique and violence all at once. Jedrzejczyk is so accurate with her punches and kicks. The accuracy differential has to be a chasm in this fight. A nice 1-2 lands for Joanna as well.

Andrade's mother wasn't against sports in general, but wanted her daughter under her wing. Jedrzejczyk is uses straight punches more in this round after a kick heavy third round.

In her time in the UFC, the champion has shown little in the way of weaknesses in the cage. Andrade is not getting hurt that much but as far as output this is a wipeout. Jedrzejczyk landed 47 of her 77 attempts, 45 of which did damage.

Andrade continued to pursue takedowns in the later rounds, but Jedrzejczyk stuffed almost all of them.

In 2015, Jedrzejczyk (14-0) surprised many with a dominant title win over Carla Esparza in Dallas. In September 2011, Andrade entered a local MMA event and scored her first TKO victory.

Reigning UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor congratulated Jedrzejczyk in a tweet later Saturday, calling her a "ferocious fighter".
