Google revealed the news during a presentation at the company's I/O developer conference today, and Asus has confirmed it with a press release.

ASUS will launch its ZenFone AR (which it announced way back in January of this year) this summer, and Verizon Wireless will be the exclusive USA carrier for the handset. ASUS explains, "To help you explore and capture your world, ZenFone AR features a high-resolution 23MP camera as part of its TriCam system". The ZenFone AR will come with the Android 7.0 Nougat OS with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, and will be available this summer at Verizon. It marked the arrival of the world's first phone with both Tango and Daydream support. However, there is no information on the pricing of ASUS ZenFone AR smartphone.

On the subject of Daydream, the company states that standalone VR headsets built by the firm's partners are coming later this year, though it did not offer a specific date.

The device is the second under Google's Project Tango, following the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, which was released in November 2016. The computing power is made possible thanks to the Snapdragon 821 processor with 8GB of RAM so that the applications can keep up with the demanding power of the phone.

In this year's Google's I/O, the tech giant announced that the ZenFone AR would arrive this summer at Verizon. Through Chrome for Daydream users will be able to browse regular websites, but also get access to Web-based VR and AR experiences.

Rather than going unlocked, ASUS gave selling rights for the ZenFone AR to the nation's biggest carrier. The 5.7-inch WQHD display makes it suitable for VR, while the phone also comes with enhancements for the 3D effect on the screen.

It uses computer vision to enable mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, to detect their position relative to the world around them without using Global Positioning System or other external signals.
