The Chilean global has just 12 months remaining on his current contract, and with a renewal seemingly no closer to being agreed, Arsenal could be forced to sell him this summer to cash in.

Bayern Munich are reportedly set to launch a bid worth €40 million (£35 million) for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

However, the 28-year-old has left his future in his agent's hands.

"I'm looking at what my agent is doing", Sanchez said.

"I think the position Arsenal are using him as a striker, in front, it is flawless for him".

Under Spanish coach Pep Guardiola coaching Alexis Sanchez was reborn.

Bayern Munich are believed to have offered the winger/striker a £350,000-a-week deal to move to the Allianz Arena, but Chilean journalist Fernando Solabarrieta has revealed that Sanchez is about to move to Manchester City.

Sanchez's team are understood to be planning to use Bayern's offer as leverage in further negotiations with Arsenal scheduled for the coming weeks.

The north London outfit are strong enough financially to afford to bring in a top-level replacement for Sanchez no matter how much money they are paid for him.

In a 1-1 draw with Russian Federation ahead of the Confederations Cup, Sanchez supplied a superb assist for former QPR wing-back Mauricio Isla to break the deadlock. Arsenal are reluctant to do business with a Premier League rival, particularly when their best player is involved.

It is rumored that Sanchez is frustrated over his club's failure to compete for the league title during his time at the Emirates Stadium.

The silver lining for the disastrous season was the FA Cup victory where they defeated the league champions, Chelsea.
