Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle Confirmed

Exploring across a 3D world that has clear influences from both worlds, Mario and a collection of Rabbids use turn-based gameplay with cover elements - somewhat reminiscent of the XCOM series.

Nintendo's got a brand new Super Mario game in the works, but with an all-new spin. The game has a nice layer of tactical strategy to it with a turn-based tactical adventure focus with multiple party members like Peach, Yoshi, Mario and Luigi-and their Rabbid dopplegangers. The game releases soon too - it's out on August 29.

We've waited years for this trailer, and we'll likely wait years to actually play the game.

Now it's all official, it's still hard to believe that it actually exists, but we're so very glad it does. When entering a battle, the game switches from exploration mode to a limited area where they can fight take strategic positions and fight enemies.

This is the story of an unexpected encounter between Mario and the irreverent Rabbids. But, as Ubisoft points out, nobody knows chaos quite like the Rabbids, and four long-eared heroes - Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Luigi, and Rabbid Yoshi - will help save the Mushroom Kingdom. This experience will allegedly be like watching a movie in which you are a participant, feeling emotions and thoughts in your head, according to the cryptic trailer. It's slated to launch Spring 2018. It's headed to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in Fall 2018. Pre-orders of either the standard or Collector's editions will also get you the pre-order bonus Pixel Pack, which includes eight bonus weapons. The extreme sports game Steep, on the other hand, is getting an expansion this December 5 that packs more action on the snow. No release date was announced, though.
