Following the declaration of a mistrial in Bill Cosby's indecent assault trial, his wife, Camille Cosby, issued a fiery statement on Saturday slamming the judge, prosecutors and the media.

The jury resumed deliberations Saturday over whether the 79-year-old TV star drugged and molested a woman in his Philadelphia-area home in 2004.

On behalf of Andrea Constand and ourselves, we would like to thank the dedicated individuals of the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office in particular Kevin Steele, Kristen Feden and Stewart Ryan and the many police officers and detectives who worked on this case, in particular Rich Schaffer, Jim Reape and Mike Shade.

Count 1 alleges that Cosby didn't have consent when he penetrated Constand's genitals with his fingers.

Approximately 60 accusations of sexual assault have been made against Cosby over a number of years, but only Constand's resulted in criminal charges because the other alleged incidents were too old to prosecute.

The jurors, who spent 52 hours debating whether Cosby was guilty or innocent, told Judge Steven O'Neill they could not reach unanimous verdicts. "How do I describe the District Attorney?"

Cosby has suggested he may go back to comedy.

"My opinion continues to be that Ms. Constand was probably the victim of a sexual assault", said Castor, whom Constand is suing for defamation.

Legal experts had always warned that the "he said, she said" nature of the case was always going to be hard to prove in court, not least because it happened so long ago and due to a lack of physical evidence.

The jury in his sexual assault case against Andrea Constand deadlocked and the case was declared a mistrial. SMH.

The mistrial was a blow to the dozens of women who have said they were sexually assaulted by Cosby.

"I've been there as her support person and an advocate for assault survivors all around the country", Philadelphia trauma therapist Shari Botwin told The Wrap.

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they grant permission, which Constand has done.

"We came here looking for an acquittal, but like that Rolling Stones song says, 'You don't always get what you want, sometimes you get what you need, '" defense lawyer Brian McMonagle told reporters.

Constand is the only one of the comedian's more than 40 accusers whose report has led to a criminal trial because in all of the other cases, the statute of limitations had already expired. Whether you were a fan of his stand-up or not, Cosby was ubiquitous in the 1980s and early '90s.

"Our plan is to move this case forward as soon as possible", he said.

Steele declined comment on a statement from Cosby's wife, Camille, which called him "heinously and exploitively ambitious".

Masten was among the Cosby accusers who responded to CNN requests for reaction to the mistrial. During the course of the evening, Cosby allegedly provided Constand with wine, water and three blue pills, which she ingested at Cosby's urging.

Constand alleges she then became incapacitated and was led to a couch, where Cosby is alleged to have fondled her breasts, put his hands inside her trousers, and penetrated her vagina with his fingers.
