Newt Gingrich: Trump Cannot Obstruct Justice

With President Donald Trump blasting reports that he is under investigation for possible obstruction of justice, Trump ally and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said any charge wouldn't stick for one simple reason.

Gingrich's claim echoes theories posited by pro-Trump conspiracy theorists that officials within the American "deep state" - namely, people working at the FBI, CIA, and the State Department - have been working behind the scenes to bring Trump down from the inside by leaking dirt about Trump's ties to Russian Federation.

Former Republican Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has re-emerged in recent days as an active surrogate for President Trump, and it didn't take long for him to join his stable of untruth tellers - this time, adding hypocrisy to the mix. On Friday he called the investigation into Trump a "witch hunt". I wonder who we should burn at the stake?

Gingrich says that the "the mentality of the left right now" is reminiscent of Arthur Miller's book The Crucible. "Turns out, even Dianne Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the (Senate) intelligence committee, says there is zero evidence of collusion".

Durbin, speaking on WGN radio, said he hoped the response to Trump firing Mueller would be bipartisan if it occurred. So now the newest one is, "Ah, but there was obstruction of justice over the collusion"'.

Donald Trump has finally confirmed he's being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation - by tweeting about it.

The most prominent of those Trump backers was Gingrich, who tweeted Monday that Republicans were "delusional" if they thought Mueller would be fair.

That came a little over a month after he tweeted, "Robert Mueller is superb choice to be special counsel".
