As South Korea's new President has begun encouraging North Korea's bad behavior, Pyongyang have wasted no time in Taunting Trump and the world with there missile tests. North Korea fired several projectiles believed to be short-ra. He also warned that North Korea could only face further global isolation and more economic difficulties. North Korea fired several suspected short-range anti.

It is the third since South Korea's new president Moon Jae-in came to power in May.

"This new-type cruise rocket is a powerful attack means capable of striking any enemy group of battleships" attempting to attack North Korea and can be used "at will", KCNA said.

The aim of the missile test, the statement said, was to confirm the functionality of the rocket and the caterpillar pad vehicle carrying it, as well as the weapon system combat application.

KCNA added the missiles "accurately detected and hit the floating targets on the East Sea of Korea". The North's claims could not be independently confirmed.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea said Friday it has tested a new type of cruise missile that could strike USA and South Korean warships "at will" if it is attacked, in an apparent reference to the projectiles detected by Seoul when they were launched a day earlier.

Two US aircraft carriers, the USS Carl Vinson and the USS Ronald Reagan, have recently departed the Korean Peninsula after conducting exercises there in what a US official described as a message to North Korea.

While they aren't the ballistic missiles banned by the U.N. Security Council resolution, the South Korean government strongly condemned the test-firing as a grave provocation. The improved range indicates the North is pursuing weapons capable of reaching US aircraft carriers that operate from deeper positions, he said.

"Our government, as I have already clarified multiple times, will not back off at all or compromise regarding national security and people's safety", Moon said. He also warned that North Korea could only face further global isolation and more economic difficulties.

The June 15 South Korean Committee, which has been pushing for the plan, said it did not receive a response from its North Korean counterpart. In 2013, state media said leader Kim had watched a drone attack drill on a simulated South Korean target.

But still South Korea remain an obstacle to THAAD deployment.

Pyongyang often accuses Seoul of kidnapping its citizens or enticing them to defect to the South.

Rodong Sinmun, the official daily of the Workers' Party of Korea, in an article said the latest series of weapons tests show that the country is not too far away from test-firing an ICBM, reports Efe news.

However the expert pointed out that the greater threat is that North Korea has also developed miniaturized nuclear warheads that can be mounted not only on ICBMs but on most of its ballistic missiles.
