Are the Bulls trade talks involving Jimmy Butler back on again? Perhaps

Phillip Butler

This comes after ESPN's Stephen A. Smith reported that Chicago had approach the Sixers offering Butler for the No. 3 pick in this week's draft, before Philly shipped that pick to Boston.

After being at the center of National Basketball Association trade rumors for much of the last two seasons, vice president John Paxson seemed to have put an end to the speculation when he gave an interview via ESPN1000 in early May.

If the Celtics don't end up landing Anthony Davis, it appears as if they're ready to deal their high draft picks in another direction. "Philadelphia in turn said, 'Hey, we don't want Jimmy Butler".

The Cleveland Cavaliers are trying to engage the Chicago Bulls in multi-team trade scenarios that would enable the Eastern Conference champions to acquire Bulls star Jimmy Butler, according to league sources.?

Now there's no word on the packages the Cavs are trying to put together, but you would have to imagine that it includes Kevin Love. After agreeing to trade the No. 1 overall pick to the 76ers for the No. 3 pick and a future first-rounder with protections, the question now is what Danny Ainge will do with that third overall pick.

But the Bulls are still reportedly asking for a hefty price in order to part ways with their franchise player.

It's going to be an interesting next couple of days as we head into the 2017 NBA Draft on Thursday. They also brought in center Robin Lopez, among other assets, in a trade with the New York Knicks.

Enter the Celtics, who then made a decision to move back two spots to No. 3 and acquire an additional future first-round pick in the process. That could mean that D-Wade also chooses a team to play for, which leaves the possibility open that he'll join his pal LeBron just like in their Miami days, in search of another National Basketball Association title.
