Nancy Pelosi Aides Seek to Drum Up Backing with Supportive Tweets: #StandWithNancy

One of Trump's electoral strengths was that he is not Hillary Clinton, and Tuesday in Georgia the voters said they don't want a congressman who has been hanging out with Nancy Pelosi. "At some point, the coach has got to go, right?" said Rep. They take the edge off the perception of the Democrats as a high-handed coastal party.

The frustrated Democrats met in Rice's office a day earlier to discuss their options as they face long odds of knocking out the woman who has led the Democratic caucus for almost 15 years from minority to majority and back, raised tens of millions of dollars and has had multiple legislative successes. "This is not a glass that's almost empty but almost full and we're ready to win the Congress in the next election but in the mean time we don't want those in power to do harm to anyone in our country and certainly not the LGBT community". Keep raising the concern that something needs to change within the ranks of the party's leadership.

Advertisements tried to tie Pelosi to the Democratic candidate in that election, Jon Ossoff.

On Thursday afternoon Rice hosted a meeting to discuss the possibility of ousting Pelosi with about a dozen like-minded Democrats, including Representatives Filemon Vela, Seth Moulton, Tim Ryan, and Cedric Richmond. "But my decision about how long I stay is not up to them".

Rep. Cedric Richmond, the Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, who many have touted as a rising star in the party, attended the session, according to three Democrats who also attended. Usually, these kinds of intra-party leadership challenges don't end well for the challenger: when a couple of conservative Republicans sought to run against Speaker John Boehner in January 2015, they only received 25 votes between them. But he also defended Pelosi, arguing that Democrats have been too timid in shielding their leader in the face of years of attacks from Republicans. At this point a coup seems unlikely, though Vela said, "I think there was consensus within the room that there are other members within the caucus who feel just like we do".

But after Donald Trump took office and Republicans dove into their agenda of repealing former President Barack Obama's health care law, Democrats' united opposition papered over their divisions and their generational divides.

Instead, he said Democrats need to focus on developing a message that wins over voters in Republican-leaning districts.

While Pelosi misunderstands America, she knows politics.

What we learned from Tuesday's special congressional election in Georgia is that there is no magical solution to the country's Trump problem. "People in OH don't grab me about Russian Federation at all when I'm home", Ryan said.

In an interview with Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends" that aired Friday morning, Trump said of Pelosi: "I hope she doesn't step down".

But out of all the GOP candidates who have won in four special elections so far this year, Handel was the only one who actually over performed the president. The Iraq war veteran endorsed eight veterans running for the House this week, and started a new national security task force with other young veterans within the Democratic caucus.

When the top post among House Democrats might open up, though, Pelosi hasn't said. "You have to look at the upside", she said. "We're a family. We're going to have those discussions".

"I love the arena; I thrive on competition; and I welcome the discussion".
