Fourth of July events around Northern Michigan

The town of Nolensville will launch the extended celebration on Saturday, July 1 at Nolensville Park, with activities, inflatables, food trucks, music and fireworks at dusk. From small towns to larger cities, citizens have created Independence Day celebrations that reflect their culture as well as their place in history. Admission to the pool at Katherine Fleischer Park will also be free.

Independence Day Celebrations (Lyndonville, NY) - The 41st annual Lyndonville Independence Day Celebration includes an arts and crafts show, parade, chicken barbeque, tractor pull, and a fireworks finale. This family-friendly celebration is from 4:30 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Abingdon - July 1- 9:15 p.m.

Canby's Independence Day Celebration starts with a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11:30 a.m. ($8 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 10, free for children under 5). There will also be a firework show at dark that you do not want to miss.

Fort Myers passengers will cruise down the Caloosahatchee River from 7:15-10:15 p.m. aboard the Edison Explorer, where they will enjoy appetizers and desserts while watching the downtown Fort Myers fireworks show.

Washington Crossing State Park's annual musket firing demonstration will be held on Saturday, July 1 from 2 to 3 355 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road, Titusville. "It is the premier fireworks show in Parker County, and it would not be possible without the support of our great sponsors and community partners".

To prepare for this event, Lindsey Park will be closed to the public on July 4 until 2 p.m. Alcohol and private fireworks are prohibited in the park.

4th of July Party at Cider Creek Hard Cider (Canisteo, NY) - Celebrate America's Independence with The Donlon Brother's at Cider Creek.

Valley View's City Celebration will not take place until Labor Day weekend, according to Community Services Coordinator Greg Adcock. The gates open at 5:45 p.m. and music by the Robbie Limon Band and others will start at 6 p.m. Fireworks begin at around 9:45 p.m. The park opens at 7 a.m. Boat rentals are available from 11 3 p.m.

Other events include live bands - with the headliner being the MS band Compozitionz - and a flag retirement ceremony by the local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

There is limited parking at the park complex, so the city recommends using shuttles to get to the event.

Vienna July 4 Festival and Fireworks. Food vendors will be on site.

Gaithersburg: The city is holding its SummerFest at Bohrer Park (512 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg) on July 1, featuring live music, food and kids' activities.

Lenoir City's fireworks display begins at dark on July 3.

And, of course Nashville will host the mother of all Middle Tennessee July 4th celebrations beginning at noon featuring the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jonny P, The Sisterhood, and the Nashville Symphony on stages at 5th and Broadway and at the Ascend Amphitheater (the symphony, during the fireworks).

The Grand Parade will start at 10 a.m. on Water and Lake streets.
