"Spider-Man: Homecoming" has been made possible because of a unique deal between Sony Pictures, which owns the rights to the Spider-Man character, and Marvel Studios.

In further news, you can check out the new Spider-Man IMAX poster for the film in the gallery below! Tom Holland reprises his role from that movie and early word is good (we'll find out in our review screening of the film later this week).

Meanwhile, director Jon Watts has been opening up about Homecoming's connections to the MCU.

And given that Marvel Studios and Sony are planning to make two more Spider-Man movies after Homecoming, we're also wondering how this relationship will develop in future films.

It's been revealed that Peter Parker, the boy who would go-on to become Spider-Man in The Avengers: Civil War, has actually been in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man 2... Setting that story arc aside for Homecoming, Jon now says there's an opportunity to explore more Spider-Man villains and more about Peter Parker's evolution as a teenager and as a superhero.

"I was watching all these other movies and being like, 'What if that little kid at the Stark Expo was Peter Parker?" Watts then broke down how the new piece of canon was introduced, along with how Damage Control was finally brought into the MCU.

With the world premiere of Spider-Man: Homecoming just a little over one week away, all Marvel fans have cast their attention toward the character of Peter Parker.

Those words obviously left an impression - and it's nice to see Peter Parker was a hero from the very beginning. "I remember... everyone being like, 'Does the math work on that?' [Feige] was like, 'It might, maybe.' Then I found out that was Jon Favreau's kid". "But where we go. we definitely want you to go '[Miles] is there".
