He averaged 18.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game during his six seasons with the Heat.

"They will forever be part of the Miami Heat family". But in a statement released Tuesday afternoon, Pat Riley made it clear that nothing about Bosh's accomplishments in Miami would be forgotten.

Bosh starred with the Raptors for seven seasons before joining James and Wade in Miami during the 2010 offseason.

Those four NBA Finals trips and two championships came after the superstar team-up of Bosh, LeBron James and Dwayne Wade. "And he changed our lives for the better, in a way we never would have imagined, when he joined the Miami HEAT", Riley said.

Bosh planned to attempt a return to the Heat last September but a failed physical left him sidelined for the season.

The Miami Heat have officially waived Chris Bosh, a move many expected to come this summer, clearing the remaining $52.1 million of his contract from the salary cap. The All-Star trio would combine to lead the Heat to four consecutive Finals, with championships in 2012 and 2013.

Bosh, 33, played in just 44 games during the 2014-15 season and only 53 games over the 2015-16 season because of blood clots in his lungs. He is, without a doubt, one of the greatest players in the history of the franchise. After announcing the Heat would waive Bosh, they also announced that no other player would ever wear No. 1 for the Heat.
