It hasn't even been a full 7 days since JAY-Z released his 13th studio album, 4:44, and already the rapper has achieved a milestone others could only dream of.

Jay-Z and RIAA CEO Cary Sherman. "Another platinum adds to an already iconic career".

Good news for Snoop, JAY-Z made 4:44 a free download for fans!

JAY-Z keeps piling on the platinum, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Announced on the official Roc Nation Twitter account, Mr. Carter posed next to his platinum plaque for the June 30-released project.

In a video review of Jay-Z's album, Snoop shared that he was forced to download "4:44" by other means: "I want to shoot a shout out to Jay Z, just dropped another muthafuckin" hot album... The RIAA even bent its rules to accommodate this new form of digital sales finagling; Rihanna then followed Jay's lead with her instant-platinum release of Anti past year in a similar deal of her own with Samsung.

Aside from that, it's unlikely his album amassed that many units off streaming alone as it's now only available on Tidal.

The rapper's latest collection has been certified platinum for sales of one million album equivalent units.

On Friday, 4:44 was released exclusively through Tidal and was only available to pre-existing subscribers, as well as Sprint customers.
