Patton Oswalt is engaged to Meredith Salenger, his publicist confirmed to ABC News.

And, ever the funnyman, Oswalt joked of the proposal on Twitter: "I put the ring in a marzipan Slave I replica and said, 'Will you be my Padawan of Love?' She maced me but said yes later".

The star of Netflix's Patton Oswalt: Talking for Clapping has talked candidly about his wife's unexpected death and the overwhelming grief he has dealt with since her passing.

He finished off the tweet, in all caps: 'GREAT CTHULHA WHAT HAVE WE DONE!?' They reportedly only started dating a few months ago, and took their relationship public at the Los Angeles premiere of "Baby Driver". The pair had one child together, an eight-year-old daughter named Alice Rigney.

Salenger had on Wednesday posted a throwback photo of herself at a wedding, writing, "Once upon a my friend's wedding".

We're wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness! I caught the bouquet. "Removing the ring was removing the last symbol of denial of who I was now, and what my life is, and what my responsibilities are".

"They met through mutual friend Martha Plimpton", the source dished.

The bride-to-be is a Harvard-educated actress whose first big break came at age 15 in Disney's The Journey of Natty Gan. She has also been known for roles in films such as "Lake Placid" and "Hollywood Heights".

The 46-year-old writer had apparently been taking Adderall, Xanax and Fentanyl when she passed, unaware she had a medical condition which caused blockages in her arteries. "Michelle's gone but she wasn't the kind of soul that disappears or dies out".
