The Rock for president? Possibly

If you ever thought that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson expressing his desire to run for President was one big joke, think again because it might actually be happening. He also joked about running for President on the season finale on Saturday Night Live in May, saying Tom Hanks was going to be his VP candidate.

It's real. It's on the books.

The form is required in order to set up an election campaign for a political party and was filed by a West Virginia resident called Kenton Tilford. CNN couldn't reach Johnson's reps for comment.

Now, that said, the connection between Tilford and The Rock is unclear, if there's a connection at all. "I think that it's a real possibility", he said.

The San Andreas star explained to the outlet at the time that if he were president, "poise would be important, leadership would be important", and he would "take responsibility for everybody".

The would-be bid for the Oval Office comes after Johnson entertained the idea of standing for President on several occasions. "Starting tonight, I am running for the president of the United States". And if so, is America really ready for two politically inexperienced celebrities in a row (both with experience in the WWE) to hold the highest office in the nation...? "And I feel like one of the qualities of a great leader is not shutting people out. If there's a large number of people disagreeing, there might be something I'm not seeing, so let me see it. Let me understand it".

Of note here as well is that The Rock is now registered as neither Democratic nor Republican but rather as an Independent.
