Spotify should soon be available to Xbox players, across both Xbox One and Xbox One S consoles.

There's no doubt that Spotify is one of the more popular music streaming services.

Citing unnamed "sources familiar with Spotify and Microsoft's plans", The Verge reports that a Spotify app is indeed coming to the Xbox One, and is now being tested internally.

The app was uncovered by a vigilant Reddit user who noticed Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb, A.K.A.

Though we have no idea what to expect from an Xbox One version of the Spotify app, we have some ideas based on how it works on the PlayStation 4. Microsoft is also planning a number of dashboard enhancements to the Xbox One in the coming months, in the lead up to the new Xbox One X console. Users can now use Spotify with their consoles in a roundabout way with the Spoticast for Spotify Xbox app, but it not only costs $9.99 Dollars, it also has mediocre reviews.

Microsoft added the ability to listen to background music while playing games to Xbox One previous year - a move that revived hopes of an end to Sony and Spotify's exclusive relationship. Additionally, subscribers to Spotify premium can look forward to having high quality bit rates in their tracks, ensuring the best sounding music available to them while listening through the Xbox platform. "Today, Spotify is coming to Windows 10 PCs and Xbox".
