Fox News said Saturday that host Eric Bolling will be suspended from air "pending the results of an investigation" into whether he sent lewd photos to co-workers, a network spokesperson confirmed to CNNMoney.

On Friday, Yashar Ali of the Huffington Post reported what had previously been only a whispered rumor among D.C. social circles - women claim that Fox News host Eric Bolling has sexually harassed them and sent them photos of his privates. Concluding his message, Bolling appeared to dismiss the allegations against him, tweeting, "I look forward to clearing my name asap". According to a Fox News source, Bolling had taped this week's episode before HuffPost approached the network with the accusations against him.

Heldman said she had also been subjected to sexual harassment by former Fox News host Bill O'Reilly and former Fox News consultant Woody Fraser.

Bolling, a former commodities trader and best-selling author, had been a longtime co-host of "The Five", and more recently helped launch a new late-afternoon show, "The Fox News Specialists".

She said he called her and sent texts after some of her appearances to apologize for his behavior or talk; asked her to fly to NY for "in-studio hits and to have 'fun, '" and tried several times unsuccessfully to convince her to have meals with him.

As news of the allegations against Bolling broke, Fox News took Bolling off the air and removed his name from some of their promotional materials. Suzanne Scott, president of programming for Fox News, said then: "Eric has cultivated a strong fan base and has become a staple to the Fox News brand". Another high-profile Fox News employee, Charles Payne of Fox Business Network, was suspended in July following harassment claims. And I don't know if it's worse or it's just more public. And if it's Fox, am I to believe that there isn't this issue at MSNBC and CNN? Bolling has denied the claims.

Eric Bolling attends Fox News' "The Five" on February 26, 2014, in New York City. He said he wanted to fly me out to NY for in-studio hits and to have 'fun.' He asked me to have meals with him on several occasions, but I found excuses not to go.

"Once, he took me up to his office in NY, showed me his baseball jerseys, and in the brief time I was there, let me know that his office was his favorite place to have sex", Ms. Heldman said. Rotating substitute hosts will be in place on "The Specialists" (weekdays/5 p.m.) and "Cashin In" (Saturdays at 11:30 a, m).
