"I think it was all foolishness, stupidity".

Within moments they remove the baby, who was unharmed.

Police arrested the two teenagers and charged them with child endangerment and assault and battery with a risky weapon.

It happened Monday at a hotel in Danvers.

After an investigation, two female juveniles were arrested and charged with child endangerment and assault and battery by means of a unsafe weapon - the refrigerator, O'Connell said.

In a horrifying incident of its kind, a baby was put inside a refrigerator by baby sitters and the video was posted on Snapchat. The baby's mother asked her niece and a friend to watch her daughter while she grabbed a shower. The baby didn't spend too long inside and she wasn't hurt.

"I was horrified. I was in shock".

Despite the charges, the victim's mother maintained that her niece is a good kid that acted foolishly.

The mother, who said she was angry after police showed her the videos, defended the teens, telling WBZ-TV: "They thought it was a joke".

The baby was not injured in the incident and is home safe with its family. These teenagers, I don't believe they did it to harm my child.

She says the baby is fine, but she'll be hesitant about leaving her with anyone again.

The teens were arraigned Tuesday.

Police are continuing their investigation along with the Essex County District Attorney's Office and the Department of Children and Families.
