Celebrities And Companies Pitch In To Harvey Relief Effort

The state of Texas is facing a lengthy recovery effort after Hurricane Harvey caused billions of dollars-worth of damage in the state this weekend.

The actor took to Instagram on Sunday night and shared a video where he calls on fellow A-listers to provide relief aid to the thousands of people in need.

After realizing how enormous Hurricane Harvey's damage has been to the people in the Houston area, Kevin Hart took to Instagram for a honest plea for donations to the Red Cross.

"I think this is a serious matter", he continued.

"I think we've participated in a lot of challenges on the Internet".

Even as emergency teams in Houston, Texas report having saved 2,000 residents from Tropical Storm Harvey, many more are still awaiting rescue with officials estimating at least 30,000 residents will be forced into shelters due to the unsafe flooding. "At this point I'm going to start a real challenge".

Comedian Kevin Hart has challenged celebrity pals including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Justin Timberlake to join him in donating $25,000 to the Hurricane Harvey relief effort. Country singer Chris Young said in a Twitter video that he created an online fundraiser for the Red Cross and donated $100,000.
