After months of rumours and speculation, Apple has confirmed that its next big press event is set for September 12th at 10am PT/1pm ET, September 12th at Steve Jobs Theatre in Apple Park, the tech giant's new, spaceship-like Cupertino campus.

An Apple event has been announced for 10 a.m. PDT on september 12 at the new Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, Calif. The company may release a third-generation Apple Watch with standalone LTE connectivity, meaning it could receive updates and alerts without having its paired iPhone nearby.

The iPhone 8 is long-speculated to be the "most expensive iPhone" ever, and undoubtedly is likely to boast more than just premium flagship smartphone features.

The iPhone 8 will be the star of Apple's show, arriving nearly 10 years to the day after late Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the smartphone's first iteration. Based on these and some other recent reports, here is everything we know about the Apple iPhone 8. However, Apple is rumoured to introduce a 512GB storage variant in the new iPhone.

Apple iPhone 8 is rumoured to come with edge-to-edge OLED screen. This is as the technolgy already made its debut in Apple iPhone 7 Plus a year ago.

9 to 5 Mac reports that Apple is expected not only to unveil the iPhone 8 but reveal its newest operating systems: iOS 11, macOS High Sierra, watchOS 4, and tvOS 11.

One of the coolest features is rumoured to be wireless charging, which means the gadget will be placed on a "pad" to charge rather than needing to be plugged in. This is also the primary reason the company is dropping the Touch ID or possibly fingerprint sensor.

It is expected that the company will launch iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus and the anniversary edition iPhone 8 at the event.
