Hits and Misses from Week 2 Polls

Washington had an early struggle against Rutgers before pulling away late, but was able to climb a lone spot up to No. 7 from the preseason rank of No. 8.

No. 1 Alabama earned all first place votes except for one, which went to #2 Ohio State.

MI dominated Florida, Virginia Tech picked up a good win and Texas fell at home to Maryland. Understandably, the Longhorns are no longer ranked, and they're barely registering a blip on the ballot radar, garnering just three votes in the Amway Coaches Poll and none from Associated Press voters.

The AP Top 25 poll for Week 2 of the college football season was released today and the Badgers stayed steady at No. 9.

Other notable slips on the polls include No. 4 USC, who fell back to No. 6 this week after needing four quarters to put away an unranked Western Michigan team at home on Saturday. As in the coaches' poll, UF and FSU (10th in the media poll) are the only ranked teams with a loss. Florida State fell to No. 10 in the AP Poll and No. 9 in the Coaches Poll.

TCU and Notre Dame jumped into the Top 25 in the AP Poll.

On that note - the last one, Texas Tech, I mean, I'll leave you with this, without further comment.
