It's predicted that 2018 will see the highest revenue growth for iPhone sales since 2015, but this will slow significantly in 2019 and, by 2020, the growth will be minimal.

What can you expect? But it's doubtful Apple will deliver any surprises, like an entirely new product category.

Apple is also planning to announce a new Watch with cellular capabilities and a 4K Apple TV. Information like Bluetooth connectivity will appear briefly in an animation on one side of the notch, backing up earlier reports that the iPhone 8's status bar will be contextual in specific situations. And you wonder the source?

Now we are very close to the next generation iPhone and excited for anniversary edition iPhone X. This year, Apple is expected to launch regular updated iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S along with special variant iPhone X.

- The name. This one's up in the air. Though construction on the site isn't expected to wrap up until later this year, Apple will host Tuesday's event at its Steve Jobs Theater, a 1,000-seat circular auditorium perched on a hill above the main campus. The Animojis will be implemented in the Messages app on the iPhone 8. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will look similar to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but include faster processors, Bloomberg News has reported. The iPhone community has remained baffled about the specifications of the device following a wave of leaks and rumours. Oh, and all that screen real estate means the home button is finally going away - to be replaced by touch-screen gestures and other software tricks.

iOS 11 describes "Animoji" as "custom animated messages that use your voice and reflect your facial expressions", in the firmware.

Other emergent details in the iOS 11 leak point to the use of facial identification for unlocking, possibly tying into rumours that the iPhone X may omit a fingerprint sensor "TouchID" platform at all, under the branding of "FaceID". These devices will run on iOS 11 GM, where GM stands for Golden Master, which is final version of the software. Still, expectations are running high for a blockbuster holiday season: In a recent survey by RBC Capital Markets, nearly two-thirds of respondents said they would buy a new iPhone model sight unseen.

- The ports. It's a safe bet that the headphone jack - gone with the introduction of the iPhone 7 - isn't coming back. This wallpapers will apparently come to all of the three new iPhones. Most expected the new phone would follow suit as the iPhone 8. That puts it in the same league as the similarly priced Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
