Watch the official final press conference for Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, Wednesday, Sep.

Gennady Golovkin hopes Saturday's meeting with Canelo Alvarez will help rank him alongside middleweight boxing's greats.

Saturday will mark Canelo's second bout of 2017. Estimated value of the signed glove is $200 U.S. This contest is open to residents of U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec) 18 years and over.

The match will be for Alvarez's The Ring middleweight title, while Golovkin will also defend his WBA, WBC, IBF and IBO middleweight championships. But Lemieux and Canelo are very different fighters and GGG will still have to be prepared to make adjustments and avoid Canelo's best punches, the left hook to the body and overhand right.

He added: "I am a big middleweight and don't want to give my advantage away, but there is not a super-middleweight that I fear".

The fight did take longer than fans - and Golovkin - would have liked, as contentious negotiations sidetracked the fight.

I wrote at the time this was confirmed, this is a fight of the decade. As we get closer to the fight, the main point of conversation has shifted from post-Mayweather-McGregor residue to the big question: who will win? He is the most risky opponent of my career, but I'm ready for him and what's next to come.

Canelo's recent wins were against Amir Khan, who is a light-welterweight, and Chavez Jr who was fighting at the wrong weight.

Despite being unbeaten with an 89% KO ratio, Golovkin is not yet the superstar that Canelo is but he will be after this fight.

An impressive win could land him a shot at the victor of Canelo v GGG who meet in Las Vegas a few hours after his showdown with American Monroe Jr. How do I know when to refer to him as GGG and when to call him Gennady Golovkin?

A decision-when Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia stepped into the ring in March this year, many expected the fight to end in a stoppage or knockout. I feel very comfortable.

"I think it's gonna be a great‚ exciting and competitive fight‚" said Ndou.
