Klopp's 'ultimatum' to Liverpool star

"So I already saw a lot things, and at the end he didn't hit a goal so probably a lot of people will say that's a proper Liverpool player!"

However, the England worldwide has been given the time to adjust to his new surroundings and Klopp's methods and will make his first start at Leicester in the Carabao Cup.

Now in a run of four matches in 11 days, which includes a Champions League trip to Moscow early next week, and Klopp admits he has no option but to make changes for the match at the King Power Stadium.

It would be a huge surprise were Liverpool not to heavily rotate for the Carabao Cup fixture tomorrow night.

Former England striker Alan Shearer has said Liverpool have made no significant headway under Juergen Klopp since the German replaced Brendan Rodgers as the Merseyside club's manager in 2015.

"It's no rushing. It's really good that he is here. I have pressure, but it can not be bigger than the pressure I put on myself".

Klopp said: "I'm not sure if there is pressure on us".

Klopp will also give first starts of the season to third-choice goalkeeper Danny Ward and midfielder Marko Grujic among a raft of changes as he juggles four matches in 11 days. But we are on a good way and maybe next time we will score that one goal more than the other team.

Klopp announced: "I'm not sure the world is ready for such a insane decision, a third goalkeeper in one season!"

"He had a wonderful impact when he came on in the last game (Saturday's 1-1 draw v Burnley) so it was very good for him".

"I think it would be odd if I were to say something about a player after two-and-a-half weeks when Arsene Wenger worked together with him for six or seven years", Klopp added.

The Liverpool boss suggested this week one player wouldn't resolve their defensive woes. However, Dejan Lovren, who missed the stalemate with Burnley with a back injury, is likely to miss out.
