Real Madrid will look to bounce back from a shocking home defeat to Real Betis when the side takes on Alaves on the road on Saturday.

"Following tests carried out on Marcelo at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, he has been diagnosed with a grade two tear in his left bicep femoris muscle", the statement said.

The former Betis midfielder kick-started his Real career with a two-goal brace on his LaLiga debut for the capital club.

It was the Dani Ceballos show at the Mendizorrotza, as he opened the scoring with a well-taken strike, only for Manu Garcia to deservedly draw Alaves level in the 40th minute.

Sergio Ramos threatened with a header that Alaves goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco saved, and Lucas Vazquez also got involved, somehow failing to double the lead from close range.

The Spanish defender and set-piece hero recently turned provider against Real Sociedad, helping Borja Mayoral score by teeing him up with a scissor-kick.

Just three minutes after the equaliser, Ceballos struck again, with Pacheco failing to clear the initial chance.

Griezmann then made the game safe 20 minutes from time as the French worldwide won a tackle inside the Sevilla box before lifting himself off the floor to receive Luis's pass and drill through Rico's legs. Alaves managed to hit the post twice in the second half, as they caused Madrid plenty of problems.

Aside from Ramos' efforts, Real's other clear chances fell to Cristiano Ronaldo. Spanish born Ghanaian striker Inaki Williams scored two goals for the latter. Alaves, meanwhile, are next in La Liga action away to Levante next weekend.
