Raging brush fire shrouds Orange County and Long Beach in smoke

More than 1,000 firefighters from across the state were battling the Canyon Fire 2 in Orange County, which has now scorched 7,500 acres and is 25 percent contained.

"We've got winds out here gusting up to 45 miles per hour, and that's what driving this fire".

Most commercial and residential homeowner insurance policies provide coverage for fire-related damages, including smoke, ash, soot, and other toxic wastes. Five thousand homes in three cities were evacuated as the fire spread Monday, and Wyatt emphasized that evacuation orders remain in effect because 3,500 homes are still threatened by the fire.


Vice President Mike Pence said Congress will consider $576 million and new legislation to aid fire suppression in the future.

Officials noted that even with assists to outside areas, they are ready for any breakouts in L.A. The Gypsum Canyon Road off-ramps were also closed on the 91.
