Why no progress in Amethi, asks Shah

BJP national president Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath will address a public meeting in Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's bastion in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi on Tuesday.

The Zee news reporter asked Rahul Gandhi's opinion about the corruption of Jai Shah while he was on a tour at Aklav in Anand district. The programme came a day after a senior Congress leader from Amethi, Jung Bahadur Singh, joined the BJP. The Gandhi family did nothing for three decades.

In my opinion, Congress has taken a big risk by churning out a campaign which will eventually end up pitting Rahul Gandhi against the Indian Prime Minister in his home state Gujarat. Making a pitch for Modi government's performance model versus Nehru-Gandhi model, Shah attacked Gandhi scion for not providing a collector's office in Amethi.

Amethi also witnessed the attendance of Smriti Irani and chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

However the opposition parties while demanding an explanation from Prime Minister Modi and resignation of Amit Shah, are criticising the government for fielding a union minister to defend the BJP Chief and his son. "I want to ask "Shahzade" of Congress as to what your three generations have given to Amethi", he said.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi said in Vadodara, " "The BJP's thinking is that till women are silent they are good, when they start speaking up they try to shut them (women) up,"In the Congress you will see women at every level in the organisation", he said". But I want to remind him that the people of Gujarat very well know what development is.

"I can give you one guarantee that if Congress comes to power in Gujarat, the government will not be a government of three or four business people. The people of Amethi are asking for "Vikas" even as the local MP goes around the nation mocking "Vikas" and insulting the poor of India", she said. Taking a swipe at Modi for his popular radio programme Mann Ki Baat, Gandhi said that if the Congress came to power in the state they would rather listen to the people.

"A vast stretch of land was given by farmers long back for construction of the Samrat cycle factory". How many women are there in the RSS. Rahul Gandhi's remarks drew flak from BJP after he asked if anyone ever saw women in "shorts" at any Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) shakha.
