It's also known that Lucasfilm is sticking with the "A Star Wars Story" subtitle that started on Rogue One.

Howard, an old friend of George Lucas and an established filmmaker in Hollywood, soon stepped in to finish production and conduct reshoots on the Han Solo movie.

The stand-alone Star Wars film starring a younger Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) has been officially title Solo: A Star Wars Story.

In a break with the tradition of Star Wars movies, the "standalone" features do not feature the Star Wars theme by John Williams, or the franchise's iconic "opening crawl".

Howard, who took over for Chris Miller and Phil Lord after they were fired in June, has been tantalizing fans with behind-the-scenes photos and videos since starting work on "Solo".

Han Solo as played in the original Star Wars films by actor Harrison Ford.

The movie costars Thandie Newton and Emilia Clarke in unspecified roles, Woody Harrelson plays a mentor figure, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (writer-star of Fleabag) will play a performance-capture character.

When film audiences met in him in 1977's Star Wars, he was an established smuggler whose claim to fame was that his ship, the Millennium Falcon, could "make the Kessel run in 12 parsecs".

If there was no spoiler, or even surprise, to the title, why go through the trouble of referring to it publicly as "Untitled Han Solo Movie" whenever it gets talked about?

The film was been written by The Empire Strikes Back and The Force Awakens screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon Kasdan (The First Time).
