Rajnath Singh targets Congress on corruption in HP

Accusing Congress of looting the state, PM Modi said that people will show them the exit door in the assembly elections scheduled for next month.

Congress has now become a laughing club, they need to introspect why people are turning away from them across the country.

Talking about last election In Himachal Pradesh, the Congress won 36 of the 68 seats in 2012 with a vote share of 42.81 percent, while the BJP bagged 26 seats with a 38.47 percent vote share.

"Despite not fulfilling 50 per cent of the poll promises, the Congress has yet again come up with the same points, just to make the manifesto look comprehensive", Dhumal said in a statement. He asked the people in Himachal Pradesh to elect a BJP government to change the fortunes and get rid of the Congress "misrule".

Blasting Rahul Gandhi for meeting the Chinese ambassador during the stand-off in Dokalam, Modi said, "The leader whose father, grandmother and great grandfather were PMs, was insulting India". To stop illegal mining and illicit forest felling, a joint task force would be formed, he added.The Union home minister said people whose land had been acquired for road building will be given four-time the compensation rates in Himachal Pradesh.He also questioned the Congress government on developmental issues and challenged Virbhadra Singh to tell people of state why despite huge flow of funds from the Centre, there was no development in Himachal Pradesh under the Congress rule. "It is time to save Himachal Pradesh from those who looted it...from the monsters", he added.


The PM also brought up India's first PM Jawaharlal Nehru with reference to the Jan Sangh, which he said was created to counter the Congress through the efforts of leaders like Shanta Kumar, a former CM and a BJP candidate.

Congress is left with nothing; whenever people are getting the chance they are voting them out of power. "And what is the stand of the Congress on raising freedom slogans".

Reaching out to the state's 2.4 million women voters, Modi said if they wanted to secure their children's future, they should ensure at least 5% higher turnout then men. The country can not expect anything from the Congress as it has become a non-serious group.

Further taking a jibe at Congress leader P Chidambaram, Shah said it was him who asked the Centre to allow the Rohingya intruders into the country.
