Roy Moore calls allegations against him 'completely false'

Moore is running against Democrat Doug Jones in a special election to succeed Jeff Sessions, who left the Senate to become USA attorney general.

But any write-in campaign would be an uphill battle and end up splitting the GOP vote, making it easier for Democrat Doug Jones to win in an upset.

He first became a national figure in the early 2000s, when he lost his position as Alabama chief justice after refusing a court order to remove a Ten Commandments monument from outside the courthouse.

Ziegler contends that the allegations against Moore are unlikely to impact his political run as he never had "sexual intercourse" with the 14-year-old girl in question, their relationship "happened nearly 40 years ago", and finally, "Moore fell in love with one of the younger women", namely his wife Kayla.

Daniel Dale, a reporter for the Toronto Star, spoke with a number of Alabama Republican county chairs.

Senator Cory Gardner of Colorado, chairman of the senatorial committee, had said: "The allegations against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore are deeply troubling". Moore bested the interim senator, Luther Strange, in a primary and runoff. "Also take Joseph and Mary".

"He's clean as a hound's tooth", Ziegler told the Washington Examiner, noting that the very old Zachariah and much younger Elizabeth produced John the Baptist.

The Republican Party's options, including the possibility of a write-in campaign, "are all being researched", said Steven Law, who leads the pro-Republican Senate Leadership Fund.

The group had been part of a fundraising committee that includes the Alabama Republican Party and the Republican National Committee.

"Take the Bible. Mary was a teenager and Joseph was an adult carpenter". The accounts by multiple women prompted Republican lawmakers to say he should end his candidacy for the December 12 special election if the allegations are true.

He denies the women's reports and says he won't quit the race. That non-authoritative text placed Mary's age at 12 when she conceived and it cited supposed evidence of her enduring virginity to demonstrate she conceived Jesus without sexual intercourse.

Those familiar with recent polling of the Alabama race suggest it was always going to be close despite the state's strong Republican leanings - largely because of Moore's controversial past. "Maybe just a little bit unusual".

Asked to clarify if Blunt was canceling on the fundraiser, she repeated, "He won't be in AL". She also claims he also took off his clothes and allegedly moved her hand so that she touched him over his underwear. "It's ludicrous. It makes me want to rip the church back from these people".

His party suddenly and bitingly divided, Alabama Republican Roy Moore ignored increasing pressure to abandon his Senate bid on Friday as fears grew among GOP leaders that a once-safe Senate seat was in jeopardy just a month before a special election.

Sen. John McCain of Arizona, however, tweeted that Moore should step aside "immediately". I think someone should prosecute and go after them. It was 1979, and he was a 32-year-old assistant district attorney.

In a statement released Friday, Moore says he never provided alcohol to minors and "never engaged in sexual misconduct".

Under Alabama state law, the ballot can not be changed within 76 days of an election.

None of the other women said that Moore forced them into any sort of relationship or sexual contact.
