Solid Blaine Gabbert, turnovers not enough as Cardinals lose to Texans

According to various sources, Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians has named Gabbert the starter of Week 12's upcoming matchup.

Gabbert was a mild upgrade over Stanton in Sunday's 31-21 loss to the Houston Texans, but things figure to be much tougher against the Jaguars in Week 12.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Blaine Gabbert (7) hands off to running back Adrian Peterson (23) during the first half of an NFL football game against the Houston Texans, Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, in Houston.

After the Cardinals cut Johnson, Arians said he regrets not being able to speak to Johnson in person before he was cut. Arians told reporters that Stanton, who has a sprained knee, will be Blaine Gabbert's backup if he can physically play.

"He can spin it as good as anybody I've ever had", Arians said earlier this week of Gabbert. In his start last week against the Houston Texans, Gabbert was 22-of-34 for three touchdowns and two fourth quarter interceptions.

Here's everything you need to know to watch the game, or follow along as we bring you the latest score, live updates, photos and video highlights in the comments section below. Hopkins has four receptions for 76 yards and one touchdown. You deserve to lose, especially when you make the decision I made and the play I called. Arizona finished with 48 rushing yards, of which Peterson had 26 on 14 carries. The resulting long third-down led to a rough 3-for-10 in that category.

By the end of the game, he threw three touchdown passes, a career-high for the seven-year veteran, but threw two fourth-quarter interceptions to go with his 257 yards. What I saw is exactly what I thought I'd see and I just think it will get better the more he throws to Larry [Fitzgerald] and those starting guys.
