In a statement, Rose said, "I deeply apologize for my inappropriate behavior".

CBS News has fired Charlie Rose following a report that he allegedly sexually harassed several women.

One woman, Kyle Godfrey-Ryan, described as one of Rose's assistants in the mid-2000s, said that she had reported the talk show host's unwanted advances to Rose's longtime executive producer, Yvette Vega. But the conversation between the two did not go as planned: Rather than discussing "the full scope" of the book and her story, Kelly explained, Rose was fixated on one particular topic.

Rose issued a statement to the Post that he is "greatly embarrassed". On behalf of SUNY Oswego, I will correspond with the Trustees of the State University of NY to discuss a path forward in regard to the status of Mr.

PBS said later on Tuesday it has terminated its relationship with Rose.

"I have held him in such high regard, and I'm really struggling, because what do you say when someone that you deeply care about has done something that is so frightful?"

Co-anchor Norah O'Donnell: "Women can not achieve equality in the workplace or in society until there is a reckoning and a taking of responsibility".

Rose's co-hosts on the morning show, Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell, were sharply critical of their colleague on Tuesday. There is no excuse for this alleged behavior.

"I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that, though I do not believe that all of these allegations are accurate", said Rose.

King and O'Donnell said they have not yet spoken with Rose, but meant to today.

Now, she said: "I'm really struggling".

"I certainly echo that", King said.

"A short time ago we terminated Charlie Rose's employment with CBS News, effective immediately", CBS News President David Rhodes said in an internal message that was shared with media.

While PBS has distributed the program, it is produced by a company owned by Rose.

These comments followed a regular news segment about the many reports that the 75-year-old veteran news anchor exposed himself and made lewd calls to women who worked for him.

O'Donnell added, "Let me be very clear. But the thing about Charlie Rose is that he would commonly require his employees to come over to his private homes", Brittain said.

I'm deeply disappointed and angry that people were victimized-and that even people not connected with these events could see their hard work undermined.
