Similar to the 2008 assault, this claim alleges an assault took place on a man in Lambeth back in 2005, which is just a stone's throw away from the Old Vic. Scotland Yard has since confirmed officers from the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command are looking into the complaint.

The Old Vic said a "cult of personality" existed around Spacey during his nine years as director, adding that his status had stopped people - especially junior staff and actors - from coming forward, according to The Guardian.

"On Wednesday, November 1, City of London Police referred an allegation of sexual assault to the Metropolitan Police Service", they said.

The alleged assault took place in London.

"On Friday, 17 November, a further allegation was made about the same man (suspected in the 2008 case)", a statement from a spokesperson for Scotland Yard reads.

The American actor is facing numerous claims of sexual assault and harassment, as part of a broader scandal in Hollywood sparked by allegations against mogul Harvey Weinstein.

In response to the claims, Spacey issued a post on Twitter in which he wrote that he did not remember the alleged incident and also announced he is living as a gay man.

Only one of the alleged victims reported the incidents at the time.

The London theatre released the conclusion following its investigation into allegations concerning the House of Cards star.

Spacey, who announced he was gay shortly after Rapp came forward with his allegations, is now seeking treatment at The Meadows rehabilitation clinic in Arizona.

They did however confirm that the allegations were made by a man in Lambeth.
