"There will be time enough towards the end of the season to have talks".

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed that there has been no development regarding talks over a new contract with the club, according to the Mail Online.

Courtois has never made it a secret that he loves living in the Spanish capital, having played for Real's rivals Atletico Madrid for a couple of seasons when he was on loan from Chelsea.

Though it is common knowledge that Los Blancos' first-choice signing would be Manchester United's David De Gea, Courtois has reportedly been identified as the ideal alternative, with Zinedine Zidane and co. huge fans of the 6ft 6in star's talents.

The former Atletico star is open to committing his future to Antonio Conte's side and said he would happily pen fresh terms if Chelsea offered him a good deal, but for the time being his focus rests on matters on the pitch, starting with the Blues' penultimate Champions League group stage clash against Qarabag.

Courtois added: "The thing for me, the most important thing, is to perform well for myself and the team".

However, despite his successes at Chelsea, rumours linking Courtois with a return to Spain have never fully died down, with Atletico's fierce rivals Real Madrid having always been reported to hold an interest in the Belgian.

But with Chelsea's Courtois now stalling on an extension at Stamford Bridge, the Mirror report that he could look to double his salary with a move to the Bernabeu.

The Belgium global has enjoyed plenty of success during his time in London, winning two Premier League titles and the league cup.
