Trump tweets 'MAGA' in response to story that is critical of him

It had been almost two full days since Trump last mentioned the elder Ball by name - and in the intervening hours, Ball had been on CNN, saying that he had nothing to be thankful for when it came to his son and his president.

"The basketball players, by the way - I know a lot of people are asking - I will tell you, when I heard about it two days ago, I had a great conversation with President Xi", Trump said after boarding Air Force One in Manila at the conclusion of a 12-day trip through Asia.

Sargent said he believes it's a form of race-baiting that plays into some Trump supporters' belief that minorities get special privileges at the expense of white people.

After returning to the United States, Trump wrote on Twitter, referring to himself in the third person: "Do you think the three UCLA Basketball Players will say thank you to President Trump?".

"It wasn't like he was in the USA and said, 'OK, there's three kids in China".

Ball and his teammates Jalen Hill and Cody Riley, returned to Los Angeles the evening of November 14 after the incident was "resolved to the satisfaction of the Chinese authorities", according to a statement released by the Pac-12 conference.

President Donald Trump is afraid of black people so he attacks them, according to the ghostwriter of his best-selling book "The Art of the Deal".


During an interview, when the father of one of the players was asked about Trump's role in bringing his son back to the U.S., the father responded "Who?"

"On the other hand", he added, "if he felt fear, he always felt aggression. and a need to put them down".

And although the players themselves expressed gratitude to the president at a news conference, LaVar Ball minimized Trump's involvement in the matter.

Cathal Kelly, of Canada's The Globe and Mail, wrote that Ball's feud with Trump is needed.

"You embarrassed your families, you embarrassed the country, and you embarrassed the president".

"This back and forth with Donald Trump has extended the brand awareness outside of just sports", Apex Marketing Group president Eric Smallwood tells Yahoo Sports. You have people that make suggestions you got people that do things. "To have that reaction from someone as high up as Trump, it has definitely helped [Ball] reach a larger audience".
