Kensington Palace also revealed that Harry and Ms Markle will carry out their first official engagement together in Nottingham on Friday.

Mr Knauf said the couple, who were grateful for the warm wishes from the public, would be putting their stamp on their wedding day.

Meghan Markle has quit her job on Suits, relocated to London, and even left one of her beloved pups behind in North America in order to live with her fiancé Prince Harry, and now she'll be making another change before she marries him in May 2018.

The royal family would pay for all the core elements of the wedding including the service, flowers and music.

Meghan, who intends to become a British citizen, will become a senior full-time working royal.

"In these beginning few months and now being boots on the ground in the United Kingdom, I'm excited to really get to know more about the different communities here and smaller organizations that are working on the same causes that I've always been passionate about", she added.

Camilla - who is married to Harry's father Prince Charles - said she thinks it is "brilliant" news that the couple are set to walk down the aisle, and thrilled Meghan will soon be her stepdaughter-in-law.

In the couple's first joint interview Monday, 33-year-old Harry said Markle immediately fitted in with his family.

Bogart, had been rehomed with friends at an undisclosed location - presumably in Canada or the United States. The exact date was not revealed.

Mr Knauf revealed Ms Markle would begin formal royal duties nearly immediately, and would join Prince Harry at a series of public appearances in Nottingham, a midlands city three hours north of London, on Friday.

Mr Knauf said Harry and Ms Markle "want the public to feel part of their day" - and are looking at ways to achieve that. The palace confirmed that the Queen has given her permission for her grandson to marry at the Chapel, where Harry was baptised.
