Officials at Fort White High School have suspended Rodriguez, who coached the boys soccer team at the north Florida school.

Frisina has family in NY and Rodriguez has family in Canada and possibly Pennsylvania, Murray Smith, public information officer for the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, said. The auto matched the description of the vehicle Rodriguez and Frisina were believed to be driving.

"I know that she to some degree left on her own".

As CrimeOnline previously reported, 17-year-old Caitlyn Frisina was reported missing from her Lake City home nearly a week ago and was believed to have left with Rian Rodriguez.

Her parents reported her missing on Sunday.

Authorities believed Frisina, 17, was traveling with 27-year-old soccer coach Rian Rodriguez. "But I absolutely believe that she was lied to and totally misled", her mother, Scarlet Frisina, told CBS News, earlier on Friday.

The sheriff's office said Caitlyn Frisina was found safe in NY. The two were believed to be driving northeast in a red Mercury Sable. Rodriguez faces charges for interference with child custody and may face additional charges, said Columbia County Sheriff Mark Hunter, who said he got to deliver the news to Caitlyn's parents.

Sometime after 4 p.m. Friday, a NY state police officer spotted a red Mercury with a Florida license plate in north Syracuse near Taft Road and Route 11.

"We love you, and we miss you, and we need to know that you're safe", Frisina said during a Thursday news conference.

The reunited family made a brief appearance in front of reporters at the State Police barracks on Saturday, according to News Channel 9. "More to follow as details come in", the Columbia County Sheriff's Office said in a tweet on Friday night.
