Police are searching for a man who struck at least four people when he drove down a New York City street, killing one and critically injuring three. Police said that they have no information about what prompted the scuffle but that investigations of the two incidents are ongoing.

Police officers responded after being notified of an assault outside XS NYC, a hookah lounge in South Ozone Park, Queens, about 4:30 a.m.

One person was taken into custody at the scene, the NYPD tweeted. Two people were stabbed in the fight and rushed to the hospital.

Witnesses told CBS New York that a group of people were leaving the bar when they saw one man beating up another on the sidewalk. The pair were recovering and in stable condition.

One of the injured was in critical condition.

A dispute ensued with others outside the club, and the man drove his vehicle up onto the sidewalk and into a crowd of people before leaving the scene, Barrere said.

Police did not immediately provide a description of the driver that fled.
