Mr. Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying he has stopped working for development.

"I sincerely hope that he will apologize to the nation for his ill thought transgression to restore the dignity of the office he occupies", the economist-turned politician said.

In an unusually strong statement, Singh had termed Modi's claims "falsehoods and innuendoes" and demanded an apology.

The Prime Minister said sea plane services can also be helpful during times of medical emergencies.

"The discussion was confined to Indo-Pakistan relations".

President Amit Shah cast his vote from his former assembly constituency, Naranpura which he had vacated to contest for a Rajya Sabha seat.

The Congress party needs no sermons on "nationalism" from a party and prime minister, whose compromised track record on fighting terrorism is well known, he added. "Until yesterday, Pakistan was interfering in Kashmir and China was interfering in Leh, Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh", it said.

Taking to Twitter, Omar questioned that why security guidelines were relaxed for the Prime Minister.

He too referred to the scams that shook the country during the UPA government and said: "We are seeing a very angry Manmohan Singh ji these days".

"Modiji says a lot of things about me, but I will not use foul language to criticise him. The monumental loot and plunder under his watch speak for him in abundance!", Shah tweeted. The Election Commission has deployed hundreds of companies of the Central Armed Police Forces, 12 companies of Rapid Action Force and 19 companies of the State Reserve Police Force for the assembly polls. "Just a day before polling, both Shri Rahul Gandhi and respected Manmohan Singh ji are only maliciously attacking PM", he said.
