Steelers use defense to clinch postseason bye

Mike Hilton and Cameron Heyward recorded multisack games and the Pittsburgh Steelers remained in the running for home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs by breezing to a 34-6 victory over the Houston Texans on Monday at NRG Stadium. They can still finish as the top seed in the conference, but need the Patriots to lose to the Jets next weekend while they beat the Browns.

In the fourth quarter of the Texans' matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers, DeAndre Hopkins corraled his 13th touchdown catch of the season with a mindboggling grab.

NOTES: Texans QB T.J. Yates cleared concussion protocol after being removed from the game late in the first half.

Heinicke was signed to the Texans' active roster after quarterback Tom Savage sustained a concussion in Week 14.

Houston has lost five consecutive games and eight of nine since its mid-October bye week.

While the touchdown made no difference in terms of the eventual outcome of the game, Hopkins' miraculous catch was just another reminder he is one of the most talented wide receivers in the league.

Of the six groups who bought their tickets in the last six weeks (since Deshaun Watson got injured and the Texans season changed), they came from Mexico, San Antonio, Kansas City, Nashville and two from Houston.

Hilton is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.
